Out of the blocks in Dumfries

Rangers today kicked off their pre-season preparations with an energetic 1-0 win at Palmerston against Queen of the South.

A healthy crowd paid tribute to veteren Jim Thomson at his well deserved Testimonial.  Rangers started with the strongest possible 11 and took the lead through a Kenny Miller goal in the second half

An injury to the Doon Hamers number 1 Roddy McKenzie meant Neil Alexander got a useful 45 minutes in the second half...in goal for Queens!

The second half also seen a number of Rangers substitutions giving valuable game time to some of the younger squad members who will want to play an important part in this coming season.  Wilson, Fleck, Bendiksen, Loy, McMillan, Perry, Shinnie, Wylde and Ness all got a run out
