RANGERS Chief Executive Martin Bain has expressed his disappointment after it was confirmed that the release of the club’s brand new away kit will be delayed.
He said: “I am extremely disappointed on behalf of the Club and the fans that this season’s away kit has been delayed. We were given assurances in writing by JJB and Umbro prior to publicising the away strip launch date that the kit would be available for the fans to buy from 29 July and that the stock would be delivered on time. “It is therefore extremely frustrating that our fans have been let down at the eleventh hour. “We have been given further assurances by JJB and Umbro today that the kit will be available for fans to purchase from Thursday, 5 August and I would like to apologise to the supporters for any inconvenience caused or disappointment experienced.” The following statement has been issued by Simon Marsh, Umbro’s Director of Sports Marketing – Clubs. “Due to a manufacturing delay at the factory, the Rangers away shirt on sale date has been put back until Thursday, 5 August. We regret the change in date and apologise to the club and its fans for any inconvenience caused. We take this very seriously and are investigating why this came about to ensure this does not reoccur in the future.”
